Who should attend VITAL2023?
VITAL2023 is the premier event for hospital and health system leaders nationwide to learn about and discuss pivotal issues that affect their patients and communities. Conference attendees include CEOs, vice presidents, directors, and managers of essential hospitals.
What is the recommended attire?
Business casual attire is appropriate for all conference events.
What are the dates and locations of future annual conferences?
VITAL2024 will be at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, June 19-21, 2024.
I would like to present at a future VITAL conference. How do you choose presenters?
Our conference features sessions based on member proposals and selected by member volunteers with staff support. We also present sessions developed through direct invitations by the association. The VITAL2023 call for abstracts is now closed. Visit essentialhospitals.org often for more information on the VITAL2024 call for abstracts, which will open in fall 2023.

What does my registration fee include?
The registration fee includes:
- All conference functions and digital materials.
- Opening reception on the evening of Wednesday, June 14.
- Breakfast on Thursday, June 15, and Friday, June 16.
- Gage Awards luncheon on Thursday, June 15.
Are there any registration discounts?
Early registration and other discounts may apply. Please check the registration page for details.
What is the registration deadline?
You must register by March 17 to receive the discounted member rate of $1,195 (a $300 savings). After that date, the fee will increase to $1,495 for members. The nonmember registration rate for qualifying nonprofit and government entities is $1,595 before March 17, and $1,795 thereafter. The corporate registration rate is $3,000. Please check the registration page for details. Onsite registrations will be accepted with valid credit card payment.
